Marli is a 21 year old Afrikaans pop/ Country singer who as an immense passion for music, her mother used to make up songs to sing her to sleep when she was a baby,
that’s where it all started. Not long after that she started to hum even before talking. Marli also has a great love for people helping whenever possible and makes it her goal to make people smile.
She loves charities and is even an ambassador for Feed a Child. Marli writes most of her song and loves to play the guitar and piano. When she was in grade 4 she played in a Marimba band until she moved to a different city. She’s currently a Vocal Coach at the Marli Smit Vocal Academy which opened January 2018.
Her mentors include Jolanda Becker, Debbi Lonmon and Manuel Escorcio, who continues to inspire and advise her on a daily basis. She has a single on iTunes, GooglePlay, Deezer, Gumtree and 42 other musical platforms. She was also recently a guest on Coastal Radio and Die Strandloper, an Afrikaans radio station in Australia.
Marli also recently performed alongside Dewald Dippenaar for Mothers day and also had the privilege to meet Alan Roy Scott and to work with him to write one of her country songs which will be released in the near future.
Her love for music inspired her to do more than just sing and helped her to create an anti-bullying campaign alongside Feed a Child called BeYouTiful, where she goes to schools as a motivational speaker and encourages children to stand up against bullying.
She is also in the process of creating a new project also powered by Feed a Child to support elderly people.
Marli loves music and enjoys seeing the effect music has on people, and hopes to continue on her musical journey.
She is currently working on her 1st album alongside various talented musicians to ensure a great listening experience. She hopes to grow in the music industry to inspire young people and have a blessed musical journey.
